whats yr best plant in the garden and hy ,any tips on planting flowers that come bk year after year will be appreciated ,
live in england thanks for the advice ,anyone else?

Alot of your question depends on where you live, because if you’re in a colder climate, plants need special care year round.
go to your nearest Home Depot, they can recommend flowers, gardening tips. You can also visit your local public library on books if you want ground garden or pot garden.
I didn’t have alot of dirt, so mine were all potted gardening. I found Cosmos and sunflowers the easiest to plant and upkeep. Snapdragons and Carnations are cool too.. make sure you use miracle grow and some vitamin stuff you get at home depot when repotting.
Best of luck!
hostas they get big and beautiful and come in different kinds and can be seaperated also. And day lillies and also flags. Hostas look nice around trees and in flower beds they fill in nicely.

IDIOT PROOF PLANTS:
Shade to Part Shade: Columbine (easy to start from seeds, blooms second year on), Bleeding Heart, Phlox, Dianthius (Pinks) (easy to start from seeds, blooms first year and on), Sweet William (easy to start from seeds, blooms second year on_, Lilly of the Valley, Hosta, Wild Violets, Forget-Me-Nots, Daffodils and other spring bulbs (except tulips and hyacinth, they’re work).
Partial Sun to Full Sun: Phlox, Sweet Peas (easy to start from seeds, bloom second year on), Iris, Daisies (including colored ones – easy to start from seeds, bloom first year on), Sweet William, Dianthius, Wild Violets, Peonies, Hollyhock (easy to start from seeds, blooms second year on), Forget-me-Nots, Lavender, Bee Balm (easy to start from seeds, bloom first year on), Tiger & Day Lillies, Honeysuckle, climbing Clematis (easy to propogate), Black-eyed-Susies, Jurusalem Artichokes.
The above constitutes a list of idiot-proof flowers in my garden that are low-maintenance, get more beautiful every year, smell great, and aren’t readily eaten by deer, bunnies, or other marauding beasties. If I haven’t mentioned the perennial above, then its because it is something the deer or woodchucks will munch on. And, overall, all of the above make great cut flowers.
A LIITTLE MORE ATTENTION FLOWERS;
Roses (that is as far as I want to go when it comes to fussing with my flowers).
LOW Bushes/Shrubs: Pink and white Flowering Almond Azaleas (stay low, do well in shady areas), Mock Orange (grows about 10 feet high, bushy, needs regular pruning of dead stalks), lilacs (can be trained to keep low)
I suggest you check out a site like Springfield Gardens. They offer complete “collections” and lots of ideas for gardens, incorporating different blooming times, color coordination, and what is suitable for your area and amount of sun. Happy gardening.
Speak to your neighbours & see what perennials (plants that come back each year )they have in their gardens.
If they are half way decent they should be able to give you cuttings from their plants
Sunflowers! And you get a tasty snack.

well I know that there are different plant species that you can plant in europe than here. You might try looking for your planting zone first of all. I can find mine in farmers almanac. Not sure how that works where your at, but check. Or maybe check with a agricultures store or garden shop, they should be able to give you lots of ideas and answers. I would Plant Hibiscus and Wisteria and my favorite, chrysanthemums- they are very hearty and they return the following year even better.
Bulb flowers come back every year & they multiply so you get more for your efford.
Caladiums !
What you don’t want to do is to buy expensive plants just to feed the slugs and snails then having to turn your garden into a killing ground by putting down pellets that also polish off birds and other wild life like the humble hedgehog. Or plants that are easily attacked by mildew, botrytis and aphids. Your previous answers seem to have covered the rest of what I was going to say.
All kidding aside, I would prefer to plant something like asparagus that goes to seed after you eat the shoots all summer it goes to seed and makes a nice green plant.
