I’m starting a small weekend gardening business. Basically, I come to your place and prepare a bed for flowers or veggies or whatever. I use a troy built roto tiller and can bring fertilizer/lime/organic to mix in if needed.

My 14 acre property and home are very unique and beautiful with gardens, ponds, creeks, streams, old barns, fences, stone walls and old foundations etc… I was thinking of renting out the place to photographers or filmmakers. I would charge a bare minimum to help out struggling artists. I’m also in Central Pennsylvania (not a huge modeling or film market) so I have no idea what to charge? I don’t want to do it for free and not because I want or need the money, but I need to charge something to keep it on a professional/business level. How do I find out what to charge?

i just started doing garden maintenance. i was wondering how much a gardener should charge in northern california. I charge by the hour, $30 for me and $17 for my helper. if your know about this business, is that too low, high, or fine. would you be willing to pay this rate, pay more or pay less? i do not want to over charge, since i want to build a good relationship with my clients, but i do not want to leave profit on the table. thanks in advance.
