I am trying to tell William (my grasshopper) here that its not an overnight thing.

As we all know Rome was built in day – well could have been if it was designed properly.
Grasshoppers dont know quantum mechanics.

Hundreds of eager people stood impatiently in the bitter cold, waiting for the grand opening of the Harrods’ sale. Desperate mothers stood embarassed, with their squaking children who were pleading to go back to their loving, warm home. Old ladies were standing weak, wrapped up in fluffy scarves; like snowmen in a glistening garden full of ice cold snow.
All of a sudden, a posh woman fiercely pulled open the entrance door for Harrods. She was wearing a small glittery hat, delicatley placed onto the top of her head. Her black suit fitted neatly on her stick sized figure, while her trousers draped down to her ankles, hanging over her thick, black, designer platform heels. She looked exhausted, like she had just come from running in a Marathon. Everyone in the massive crowds of ques went silent, just like timid, tiny mice. “I want everyone to kindly walk though the doors in orderly form, please!” demanded the posh lady. Ignoring the woman, the masses of people burst through the entrance door, determind to get the best and biggest bargain on offer.
The shop was completely magical. People gazed at the neat piles of expensive items, which were waiting to be bought: sparkly shoes stood high on the top shelf, watching down on all the mad shoppers searching the area, huge handbags hung on a metal stand, grabbing peoples attention with their gleaming, bright colours. Foolish women were pulling and tugging over who deserved to own the cheapest and stylish pair of golden earrings. Perfumes stunk out the entire shop with their beautiful smell, so strong that you can taste it in your mouth.
Heavy-duty security guards were dotted around the store, keeping their eyes peeled on every astounded shopper who they could lay their eyes on, while unattractive shop workers stood anxiously, safely cushioned behind strong counters, warily waiting for the greedy shoppers to arrive with their bulging baskets.
It was closing time. Customers slowly draped out of the eye-catching store, upset that they hadn’t got the best bargain. All of a sudden, workers were rapidly rushing around the store, swiftly tidying up all the shelves, which were clattered with unwanted sale items. Eventually, after a day which seemed to last forever, finally came to an end. The room was still.
After a horrifying day of cheeky children, moaning mothers and poor pensioners, the over-paid workers leave the store to go back to their comfortable homes. The manager is found in the corner of his office, sitting laid back on his classy, cushioned black chair. He greedily counts up the huge piles of money, made from the cheap sale.
The lights click off in the massive store, which is still clattered full of unwanted items. There is complete silence, the store is lifeless. The manager suddenly starts a cheerful whistle, which is screeching into every direction of the store. Soon enough, the ungrateful manager finally decides to lock up the stunning shop. The only thing to be seen inside the store are clothing hangers, stacked onto a grubby rail. Cheap dresses were lying on the floor, roughly thrown onto the dirty floor. Smashed ornaments, thrown in anger by a spoilt child. The once in a lifetime sale had finally come to an end.

i see it alot in san francisco but it could be other places. it’s kind of tall and grows in bunches. the leaves are long, thin and green and have subtle but sharp razor-like edges. the tops of the plant look like a feather-duster or a flag, it’s white and shaggy. it usually grows wild; it’s not something you plant in a garden on purpose. i would love to know the name of this plant. thanks.
